Whether or not you’re into literature, chances are good you’ve at least heard of Walden, the famous book by Henry David Thoreau.

That book was written in 1854. The US was in the middle of an economic boom and there were all sorts of challenge and adventure available, but the majority of men at that time still felt that life was just something to get through.
Think of that – in a world before mass shootings and Antifa attacks and stock market crashes, the people felt desperate and stifled.
Stress and Desperation At an All-Time High
We’re constantly bombarded by thousands of messages – emails with long lists of meaningless tasks to do, news stories that depress us, and ads designed to make us feel bad.
We’re facing the warnings of an upcoming economic crash – right as millions of us start to approach retirement age.

Yes, it’s true – our lives are busier, sicker, and more stress-filled than ever.
