Without further ado…

#1 A Volcano-powered Bitcoin City

Remember back in June, when El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, declared Bitcoin legal tender? The law passed a few days later and, as of September 7th, Bitcoin is now accepted as payment by all businesses country-wide.

Well, it turns out El Salvador was just getting started.

Sporting his signature backwards ballcap, President Bukele announced on Saturday El Salvador’s plan to build an emissions free Bitcoin City. Bukele boasts that this city of the future will have it all: Residential communities, commercial businesses, museums, entertainment, bars, restaurants, airport, rail — you name it.

Bitcoin City

Bitcoin City comes with some major promises:

  • 0% Income Tax
  • 0% Capital Gains
  • 0% Property Tax
  • Zero CO2 emissions

#2 Better than Bitcoin?

Recently returned from the COSM Technology conference in Washington, Jonathan “J-Rod” Rodriguez noticed something strange about Bitcoin… no-one was talking about it.

As you’re aware, Bitcoin comes with it’s own set of challenges. Namely, it is an extremely labor intensive coin to mine this token. While El Salvador has a volcano to circumvent the issue, the world will need a more inclusive answer to energy and emissions concerns. Enter the cryptocurrency competing with Bitcoins success..

#3 The most Googled crypto

There’s no doubt, 2021 has been a breakout year for cryptocurrency. You’re well aware that Bitcoin and Ether are now as good as household names, leading the crypto craze as the #1 and #2 cryptocurrencies.

What you may not know is that these two currencies are not leading the search engine race.

Meme coins are cryptocurrency that originate as internet memes and jokes. And I’m pretty sure early investors in Doge laughed all the way to the bank.

Public sentiment is a major driving force in the value of these “silly” altcoins

#4 Roll over DOGE

If you were paying attention, you already know that crypto’s top 10 currencies had a rough week. But one coin that’s battling Dogecoins market value is seeing green while the top tokens are seeing red.

Last Tuesday, Ava Labs announced a partnership with Deloitte to help victims of natural catastrophes with reimbursement applications, causing $AVAX to surge to all-time highs.

This article from Fortune further explains why this cryptos value is still snowballing while other major players seem to be melting.

#5 First an arena, next – the moon!

You’ll recall the November 17th announcement that the Staples Center will officially become Crypto.com Arena as part of a 20-year naming rights agreement with AEG. Since then, Crypto.coms native token $CRO has been on the move.

CNBC Tweet: Crypto.com

Crypto.com Co-Founder and CEO Kris Marszalek said of the agreement:

Known as the Creative Capital of the World, the city of Los Angeles and the people who call it home have always been pioneers, pushing the boundaries and innovating as the undeniable global leaders of culture and entertainment. We’re very excited about partnering with AEG and investing long term in this city, starting with Crypto.com Arena in the heart of downtown, and using our platform in new and creative ways so that cryptocurrency can power the future of world class sports, entertainment and technology for fans in LA and around the world.
